Tempus Information Day

On 22 of November 2012 the National Tempus Office, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, conducted the Annual Conference — Tempus Information Day. This event was conducted in the premises of the Turkmen State Institute of Transport and Communications in second time.

Representatives of Turkmen universities participated in the conference as well as representatives of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan and the of Sciences of Turkmenistan.

The opening remarks to the audience were made by Mr. Theo Hensels, Coordinator, Europa House Turkmenistan and Ms. Anne Suotula, Head of the Liaison Office of the European Union Delegation and Mr. Nury Bayramov, Head of the International Relations Department, The Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan.

Mrs. Aina Choreklieva, the National Tempus Office Coordinator, made a presentation of the various opportunities offered by the new Tempus IV 6th call for proposals, the different rules and procedures that have to be followed to apply and also has informed about opportunities offered by the Erasmus Mundus programme.

Ms.Sapargul Valiyeva, the teacher of the Economics department, The Turkmen State Institute of Transport and Communications made a presentation — «The results of the Tempus and Erasmus Mundus projects in The Turkmen State Institute of Transport and Communications».

Tempus Regional Seminar on Human Resource Management in Public Higher Education in Central Asia

The Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency organised a seminar on the management of human resources in public higher education in Central Asia. in October 2012 in Tashkent.

The aim of the seminar was to present the results of the Tempus study «Human Resource Management in Public Higher Education in the Tempus Partner Countries» and to encourage reflection and discussion on the general challenges and trends in human resource management in public higher education.

The event was attended by around 80 participants, coming from five countries of the region (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan): university representatives (academic and administrative staff), staff of higher education agencies, ministry officials and National Tempus Offices representatives.

The Turkmen delegation was presented by: Mrs. Aina Choreklieva, NTO Coordinator, Mr. Batyr Izmailov, the Turkmen HERE and Mr. Bayramgeldy Atajanov, teacher of the Turkmen State Institute of Oil and Gas.

Four different themes were covered in workshops during the seminar:

  • Theme 1: Human resource management — Academic staff
  • Theme 2: Human resource management — Administrative and technical staff
  • Theme 3: Human resource management — Rectors and Deans
  • Theme 4: Human resource policies and reforms

Thematic seminar for Higher Education Reform Experts:
University-Business Cooperation

This event was organised by UNICA (the Network of Universities from the Capitals of Europe) and was held in Holon Institute of Technology, Holon, Israel from 14th till 15th of May 2012.

The HEREs seminar offered a platform to discuss the issue of cooperation between the academic world and the industry. This thematic seminar provided background information, policy updates, professional presentations, and reviews of case studies.

HERE teams from Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Israel, Russia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan participated in the conference as well as representatives of the National Tempus Offices of these countries and representatives of the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA). Turkmenistan was represented by Mrs. Aina Choreklieva, NTO Coordinator, and the Turkmen HEREs: Mr. Charymuhamed Shallyyev, Mr. Charyyar Ashyralyyev and Ms. Ogulsapar Nazarova.

Tempus Information Day

On 23 of November 2011 the National Tempus Office, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, conducted the Annual Conference — Tempus Information Day 2011 in the premises of the Turkmen State Institute of Transport and Communications.

Representatives of 16 Turkmen universities participated in the conference as well as representatives of the Ministry of Education of and the of Sciences of Turkmenistan. The overall number of participants from the Turkmen universities was 80: 49 teachers and 31 students. Also the conference was attended by the representatives of the EU Member-States Embassies and international organisations operating in the field of education in.

The opening remarks to the audience were made by Mr. Theo Hensels, Coordinator, Europa House Turkmenistan and Ms. Anne Suotula, Head of the Liaison Office of the European Union Delegation.

Ms. Alba Chiara Tiberi, Tempus Project Officer at the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency and Mrs. Aina Choreklieva, the National Tempus Office Coordinator, made joint presentations of the various opportunities offered by the new Tempus IV call for proposals, the different rules and procedures that have to be followed to apply and also have informed about opportunities offered by the Erasmus Mundus programme.

Mr. Begench Charykuliyev, the Member of the Tempus project JP-511172-2010 «Development and introduction of the bachelor’s speciality „Energy Management“ on the basis of distant training» from the Turkmen Polytechnic Institute made a presentation — «Perspective introduction of electronic education in the Turkmen Higher Education Institutions».

Tempus and Erasmus Mundus Information Day

On 27th of November 2010 the Tempus and Erasmus Mundus Information Day was held in the premises of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan. The conference was attended by the representatives of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, all HEIs and international organisations operating in the field of education in Turkmenistan.

Tempus Regional Seminar on University Governance in Central Asia

This event was organised by the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency of European Commission and was held in Almaty (Kazakhstan) 20 – 21 September 2010.
Topics for discussion during the Seminar’s workshops:

Theme 1: From a regulatory state to a supervisory state: new emerging mission, functions and roles for the Ministries
Workshop 1A - External governance - Professionalisation of public management and administration of higher education
Workshop 1B – External governance - Appropriate role in curricula and degrees (freedom, guidance, control).
